The Inadvertent Myth Of Mlm Duplication
This evening, on a whim, I pushed open the rear French doors of my home and strolled outside to sit in my Zen Garden, relax, and reread, for the pure pleasure of it, Joe Vitale’s revelatory masterpiece “The Attractor Factor.”
MLM lead generation, network marketing training, home based business six-figure success strategies,… none of it even crossed my mind at the time.
I did so because I got, out of the blue, a strong intuitive urge to, a hunch, and as Joe passionately recommends in the book, I’ve learned to listen and obey when those hit me.
I had no idea that reading a specific sentence in the book would stop me cold, and send me literally running (you can ask my stunned wife) upstairs to my office to feverishly write this to you, courtesy of an inner nudge that felt like a punch inside my stomach.
I felt compelled. I suddenly realized it was my duty to do so.
You see… We’ve all been lying to you.
How? Well…
The Big Ole’, Inadvertent Lie
Here’s the thing. As a home based business owner, I know you’ve heard many a leader swear by, and reverently sing the praises of the almighty duplication.
It’s the alleged holy grail of MLM, network marketing and personal development gurus everywhere.
You’d be rolling in a sicked out Escalade with fat commission checks and autograph requests from star struck network marketers at your company events if only you could get the elusive “duplication” rolling throughout your organization.
The world would be your oyster, granting your every wish like an enslaved genie, if only you’d find a successful mentor who has what you want, observe their every move and adopt their every thought, -and buy their books – and duplicate their exact steps.
Every leader who’s achieved significant success has said it before, including me, and we’ve said it with fervent belief. We meant every word of it.
And it was still a damn lie. Though, no doubt, an inadvertent one.
See, there is a lot of truth to the myth of duplication, but there’s one tiny little caveat at the bottom of it that’s kinda hard to explain, but if we’re honest, we have to acknowledge it really makes ALL the differe

The Marvelous, Liberating Truth
The real truth of duplication is found in Joe Vitale’s single sentence that sent me flying upstairs to write this;
“Truth is, there’s no one way to achieve anything in this world. Some people get new cars by winning them, others by struggling to pay for them, others by happily paying for them, others by other means.”
Ok, so that’s two sentences. Don’t be difficult. You get the point I’m making.
See, you can’t really duplicate exactly someone else’s steps to your own success in an MLM or network marketing home based business, or any other endeavor for that matter.
Why? Because you are a completely unique person with unique gifts, and every single situation you find yourself in on the way to your goal will be unique in some way from the situations your mentors were in.
What you have to do is follow the basic outlines and principles of those who have gone before you, but then leverage your own strengths, add your own personal flavor, and follow your own intuition.
Pin down and ask anybody who’s actually achieved 6, 7, or even 8-figures using a network marketing home business vehicle and, if they’re honest, they’ll tell you their own unique qualities coupled with a healthy dose of experimentation were critical to their achievements.
I can tell you that I’ve never met a single person who was a massively successful home business owner and didn’t admit this.
Liberating ain’t it?
Isn’t that a @$%#* relief? You DON’T have to be a robot. You don’t have to stress about following all the “rules” to the letter. Being creative, innovative, and original is not only allowed, it’s mandatory if you want to experience extraordinary success.
So loosen up, breathe out, unpucker your ‘you know what’, and have some fun!
Determine exactly what you want from your mlm or network marketing home based business, in vivid detail, then LET GO, and let God, The Universe, or whatever works for you, bring it to you through your actions, meaning when you have intuitions, inspirations, hunches, and the like, act on them, with urgency and speed.
Let go of the working class/corporate slave mindset; Success doesn’t have to be hard or come through grueling, painful struggle. There’s no designated, irreproachable, path or trail. You can blaze your own damn trail and have a ball on it.
All you have to do is decide to. Are you ready for that?
